“One must not think that a person who is suffering is not praying. He is offering up his sufferings to God, and many a time he is praying much more truly than one who goes away by himself and meditates his head off and, if he has squeezed out a few tears, thinks that is a prayer.” St. Teresa of Avila
These are strong words from St. Teresa. Many times we are caught up with seeking out pleasures in this world, with disregard of God’s plan for us. If we seek only happiness in this life, we will have received our heaven here on earth. We should mean what we say when we pray the ‘Our Father’; we say ‘Thy will be done’, not ‘my will be done'.
